		<description>The Chinese design for the Harbour Development at Hambantota, Sri Lanka is quite strange.  When their is deep water exceeding 15Mtrs coastal seas the Chinese design created an inland harbour in the first stage which was recently opened - they let the sea come into the newly created port.

Some of the infrastructure on shore and close proximity to the harbour indicates that more than mere merchant shipping will be calling over...

Stage II and III plans are also interesting...</description>
